The Emergency Preparedness Museum Foundation takes care of the Emergency Preparedness Museum's collections. When offering objects for the collections, it is initially assessed whether the object is part of one of the collection orientations that govern the Foundation's collection of objects. The collection orientations are as follows.

THE PREPAREDNESS MUSEUM'S OBJECT COLLECTIONS

Guidelines

The task of the Preparedness Museum is to safeguard objects, archives and photographs etc. according to five defined collection areas. The collections are based on the fact that the objects acquired by the Preparedness Museum must fit as museum objects in one of these five areas:

Item area 1

Here, both civilian everyday life and war, ordinary objects, army equipment and civil defense equipment, in short everything that has relevance and was used during the war years and during the Cold War era, are collected.

Subject area 2

The coastal artillery 1902 – 2000

This is where everything belonging to the coastal artillery and thus Battery Helsingborg is collected.

Subject area 3

The Scanian defense during the 20th century

Here is collected what was used in the defense of Skåne from the time of the First World War until the end of the Cold War.

Item area 4

The Norwegian Armed Forces Museum's weapons history collection

Here is collected what belongs partly to Swedish military firearms used from the beginning of the 19th century until today, partly to foreign military firearms used during the First and Second World Wars and the Cold War era, partly to cannons and pieces, used from the middle of the 17th century until the end of the 20th century.
