Military history days at the Readiness Museum

Shows 2023

The Preparedness Museum was the first military history museum in Sweden to arrange military history exhibition days. Since 1999, the Preparedness Museum has shown vehicles, equipment, exercises from the Viking Age to the Cold War, etc. For many years, the military history days were carried out,Sweden's military history weekend, at the Preparedness Museum together with the book club Swedish Military History Library, SMB.

Sweden's military history weekend at the Preparedness Museum has been hugely popular. In the spring of 2014, the event was visited by 3500 visitors, per day! As you know, it is important to stop when the top is reached. And so it happened, and in 2017 the Preparedness Museum decided on a break in display days in order to plan and create new displays of an even more fantastic kind. The idea was to return with full display power in the spring of 2020...

In 2020 and 2021, all major exhibitions and events were canceled by the Preparedness Museum due to the pandemic.

In 2022, it was awaited how the pandemic would develop. No shows were planned due to the uncertain situation. In the same year, Ukraine was attacked by Russia.

The Museum of Emergency Preparedness has decided that as long as war continues in Europe, the military history weekend will be mothballed. "Gittan", "Alice", "Lucia" and other vehicles and carriages are beautifully left to wait for peace, or at least for better times. So come and look at our fine carriages in the museum's exhibitions where they will stand by, waiting for Peace in Europe!

Smaller events will be held in 2023. Keep an eye on the website!
